Community Support Drives Success for the Eagle Valley Trail
The Eagle Valley Trail is closer to becoming a reality thanks to the incredible support from our community. Your contributions have helped the fundraising committee secure major grants from private foundations and state-wide programs, demonstrating just how powerful local backing can be in leveraging larger investments.
EVT Committee Wins
We’re excited to share that the committee has successfully obtained grants from notable organizations, including El Pomar Foundation and Gates Family Foundation. These private funds are a direct reflection of the enthusiasm and commitment shown by our supporters. In addition, we’ve secured a game-changing $7 million grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO)—an incredible boost that’s pushing the Eagle Valley Trail closer to completion.
What makes this even more special is that every contribution matters. Whether it’s a large donation or a small one, each dollar helps us unlock more funding. Your support has allowed us to demonstrate widespread community engagement, which is crucial for securing grants like those from GOCO and other private foundations.
Together, we’re building something extraordinary. Every step you take with us brings us closer to connecting communities, fostering outdoor recreation, and preserving the natural beauty of Eagle County. Thank you for helping make this vision a reality! Keep the momentum going—we still need your support as we push toward the finish line.

About Our Partners
El Pomar has been supporting Colorado communities for over 85 years and enhancing, encouraging and promoting the current and future well-being of the people of Colorado.
The Gates Family Foundation is working with partners and communities to build a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable Colorado for all.
Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) invests a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance the state’s parks, trails, wildlife, rivers, and open spaces. GOCO’s independent board awards competitive grants to local governments and land trusts and makes investments through Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Created when voters approved a Constitutional Amendment in 1992, GOCO has since funded more that 5,200 projects in urban and rural areas in all 64 counties without any tax dollar support.
