Trail Talk

Start out on the right foot.

Responsible Recreation

In Colorado, getting outside is in our nature. One of the best ways to show respect for our state is by practicing responsible recreation. Adhering to best wilderness practices and the rules of the trail helps keep Colorado beautiful.

  • Leave no trace.

Practice the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace on the Eagle Valley Trail. These principles help minimize the impact on our outdoor spaces, educate visitors and locals and help ensure these special places are enjoyed by future generations.

  • Care for Colorado.

Whether you’re visiting from out-of-state or call Colorado home, the Care for Colorado initiatives help keep it beautiful. Remember to know before you go, lead with kindness and care, respect the landscape and leave it as you found it.

  • Rules of the trail.

Follow the rules and no one gets hurt. Remember things like pass on the left, ride to the right and keep speeds slow when the trail is busy. Look for signs next to the trail that alert you to upcoming intersections, blind corners and features like bridges.
